The team at Red Deer Village Holiday Park are delighted to have retained our 5 Star Visit Scotland Award. The prestigious award recognises exceptional standards in the tourism industry and sets a precedence for holiday parks to follow. This is the fifth consecutive year we have received this award, which is testament to the hard work of our dedicated staff.

What does it take to achieve 5 star status?

Scotland’s national tourism agency, Visit Scotland encourages accommodation providers to offer exceptional customer service and facilities for visiting guests. They have set out a number of Quality Assurance guidelines for parks to strive to achieve. Over the years we have worked hard to carry out improvements across the park to meet the strict criteria. This has included a refurbishment to our fleet of hire accommodation and upgrading our amenity block.

5 Star Small Holiday Park

Red Deer Village Holiday Park has grass and hard standing pitches for touring caravans, motorhomes and tents. We also have a number of fully equipped self-catering accommodation options, which include static caravans, holiday homes and chalets.

Our family and dog friendly approach along with a tranquil setting makes Red Deer Village Holiday Park an ideal stop-off for guests on their way to the north or south. We are also the perfect base for those visiting Stirling, Loch Lomond or Edinburgh and Glasgow’s vibrant city centre is just 5 miles away.

There are plenty of things to see and do in the local area. The Glasgow Fort outdoor retail park is a mere 10 minute drive. It hosts a variety of shopping and restaurant opportunities, and even a cinema. Hogganfield Loch and Frankfield Loch in Stepps make perfect dog walking opportunities and there are several playgrounds in Stepps for younger children to enjoy.

We are also close to a number of transport links which allows our guests to explore by public transport.

Visit Scotland Assessments

As Red Deer Village is the closest campsite to Glasgow, it’s important for us to maintain our high standards. Therefore, Visit Scotland assesses us annually to ensure we pay attention to detail and meet the assessment criteria. This year, our assessor was particularly impressed with our cleanliness, reception area and our rental accommodation.

We first achieved the 5 star Visit Scotland Award in 2014 and have retained it ever since! Our accommodation and reception has been refurbished, free wi-fi is available and our gardeners ensure that the park always looks its best.

Other Awards

Visit Scotland have introduced sustainability actions as part of their Quality Assurance. Red Deer Village Holiday Park are currently undertaking 25 out of 30 sustainability actions, particularly in areas of energy and sustainable management. Red Deer is also now part of the Visit Scotland iKnow Scotland programme, which shares information about the local area to visitors.

We are delighted with the progress we have made this year. We also retained our Gold David Bellamy Conservation Award and achieved special recognition for our woodlands only a short time ago. So we can’t wait to see further success!
