Aladdin
Disney’s Aladdin is live at the Theatre Royal Glasgow from 6 – 30 November! It’s the perfect family show in the lead up to Christmas. Enjoy the magic of a whole new world and get lost in the story and songs you know and love. Plus, Theatre Royal is only a 20 minute drive from our camping site.

Glasgow’s Christmas Lights Switch On
Glasgow’s annual Christmas Lights Switch On in George Square takes place on 17 November. A lighting and projection show will light up Glasgow City Chambers. George Square and St Enoch Square have already come to life as the Christmas Markets are now underway. You can enjoy a day round the markets easily from Red Deer Village. Stepps Station is only a 15 minute walk from the campsite, and takes 20 minutes to get into Glasgow Queen Street Station. Walk straight outside and you’re on George Square!
Pantomimes
There’s a few pantomimes to check out this Christmas season in Glasgow. Peter Pan sees Johnny Mac and Elaine C Smith as Smee and Mrs Smee from 23 November – 5 January at the King’s Theatre. Tickets are available from only £13! Or similarly, Peter Panto and the Incredible Stinkerbell is showing at the Tron Theatre from 22 November – 5 January. Beauty and the Beastie also takes place at the Pavilion Theatre from 28 November – 12 January. No matter which production you choose, you’re sure to have great fun with the family.

RSPB Glasgow at Kelvingrove
For all of our nature lovers, RSPB Glasgow are holding regular drop-in nature themed activities at Kelvingrove Art Gallery & Museum. Make your own bird feeders on 23 & 24 November to help out our birds during the winter months. Then make clay seed Christmas decoration on 14 & 15 December, and chuck them in your garden after to grow your own wildflowers this spring!
Arts and Crafts
There are arts and crafts activities taking place throughout Glasgow in the run up to Christmas if you’re looking for a fun change of pace while exploring the city. The Braw Wee Craft Club is hosting several workshops, include candle making, pom pom and wooly wreath making. Meanwhile, Christmas edition glass painting will be at the Blue Dog. A ceramic tree lantern workshop will be at Art Space G41 on 17 November, as well as ids festive pottery painting on selected dates from 23 November – 14 December. enjoy a Christmas pottery class making a miniature snowman sculpture at Creative Bloc on Glasgow’s West End or take the kids to build a teddy bear with Santa’s elves at Wish Upon A Star Kingdom, both on 24 November. Whilst you’re in the West End on the same day, Ashton Lane hosts their winter wonderland, a street usually packed with atmosphere and music!
