The Commonwealth Games are coming to Glasgow in 2026! The vibrant city in central Scotland is getting ready to host the Games for the second time, after the very successful 2014 event. The Games will take place from 23 July to 2 August. Red Deer Village Holiday Park in Stepps, Glasgow, will have accommodation available throughout the events taking place, including self catering holiday homes, chalets and static caravans to rent, as well as motorhome and camping pitches available. Glasgow Commonwealth Games 2026 Sporting Events

74 countries will be taking part in the Commonwealth Games in 2026, which takes place every 4 years. There will be 10 sports included as part of the vents as well as six Para sports. Events include basketball, gymnastics, athletics, bowls, boxing, cycling track, judo, netball, swimming and weightlifting. Para sports include wheelchair basketball, para athletics, para bowls, para cycling track, para swimming and para powerlifting.

Location

The sporting events will take place over four locations across Glasgow, Scotland – Scotstoun Stadium, Tollcross International Swimming Centre, Emirates Arena and the Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome and the Scottish Events Campus (SEC – this includes The OVO Hydro, SEC Armadillo and SEC Centre). The schedule is action packed, with events taking place over 10 days.

Where to Stay

Red Deer Village Holiday Park in Stepps is only 5 miles from Glasgow City centre, ideally located for easy access to the multiple sporting locations across the city. The Glasgow campsite is within a 15 minute walk to the local bus stop and train station. The train takes 20 minutes from Stepps Station to Glasgow Queen Street, which is directly in the city centre.
