Out and About

If you’re fortunate enough to time your stay at Red Deer Village Holiday Park with Scotland’s sunshine, why not make the most of it? Glasgow is home to some gorgeous parks which make the perfect spot for a group picnic.

Pollock park, located in Glasgow’s south side, is the ideal location for those who enjoy a little bit of culture. In addition to a stunning waterfall, highland cattle and horses, the park is host to The Burrell Collection, a gallery bursting with artworks and artefacts from all over the globe. It’s definitely worth a visit.

On the other side of town in Glasgow’s West End you can find Kelvingrove Park and the Botanic Gardens; both of which are perfect for taking in some gorgeous scenery on a relaxing group stroll. If you’re looking to update your photo frames, remember to pack your camera as both locations make for some stunning group portraits.

If you fancy venturing further afield, Strathclyde Country Park is just a bus journey away and a guaranteed group pleaser. A host venue during the 2014 Commonwealth Games, this popular park features everything from adventure playgrounds to watersport activities. Free Attractions

For those on a tight budget, you’ll be relieved to know you don’t need to spend a penny to access some of Glasgow’s popular tourist attractions. In fact, some of Glasgow’s free attractions top our list of the best things to do in the city!

The Lighthouse is located, or should we say hidden, just off the bottom of Buchanan street, Glasgow’s famous high street. Referred to as Scotland’s centre for Design and Architecture, at the Lighthouse you can get access to spectacular views of the city or view the collection of Rennie Mackintosh’s works. If art is your thing, Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum is another must-see. The museum is currently hosting ‘The Art of Comics” until October 17th which features an impressive comic book collection.

Other attractions include Scotland’s oldest public museum, The Hunterian, and Glasgow’s Cathedral which offers free guided tours.
