The Commonwealth Games 2026 will take place from 23 July – 2 August across Glasgow locations, with events including basketball, gymnastics, athletics, bowls, boxing, judo, netball, swimming, cycling and weightlifting. Red Deer Village Holiday Park are taking bookings in advance and are already full for certain dates during the Games. If you are thinking of booking, don’t delay! We have flexible payment options, allowing you to pay a 50% deposit upon booking and the remaining 50% 3 months before arrival. During the Commonwealth Games period, we are operating a slightly altered refund policy, with bookings cancelled 3 months in advance of arrival receiving a full refund and bookings cancelled 1-3 months before arrival receiving a 50% refund. TRNSMT Festival 2026 will take place early next year, 19-21 June, due to the Commonwealth Games in July. Huge names will be visiting Glasgow Green, such as Lewis Capaldi, Amy Macdonald, Kasabian, Sonny Fodera and Richard Ashcroft. Our campsite is always very busy for TRNSMT, so we recommend booking early to avoid disappointment.
Refurbishment News 2025
Our 2025 news includes installing new hand dryers in our bottom toilet block! This is in an effort to reduce our environmental impact by eliminating the use of paper towels. We take part in the David Bellamy Conservation Scheme, so our local wildlife, environment and carbon footprint is very important to us.
During our low season, we have closed our top toilet block so we can undergo some upgrades. New shower trays are to be installed in our ladies top shower block, following on from 2024’s new shower head and flooring upgrades. So for your 2026 visit, everything should be brand new, spick and span!
Don’t forget that our touring park has a range of facilities on site, including an accessible bathroom for those who need a bit more space or assistance. This is kept locked, so if you need a key, please ask at reception when you check in!
We’ve Gone Electric!
This year, we added a new electric car to our fleet. The VW ID.3 is all electric, making that one extra step towards reducing our carbon footprint. It also makes great use of the EV chargers we have on the park, which are easy to use and available to all customers.

Our biggest news of 2025 was the wedding of our loyal gardener of 6 years, George, to his partner, Kim. The staff enjoyed a fabulous night out at George and Kim’s wedding in October. Congratulations to the happy couple, we wish you a lifetime of happiness!
Staff Training
This year, the Red Deer Village Holiday Park staff have undergone a lot of new training. There’s been first aid, manual handling, Kawasaki driving and live fire drills, which always keeps everyone on their toes!
Local Food Market
On the second Saturday of every month, Stepps hosts a food market for local suppliers. It’s a great few hours out to try a taste of local businesses. If you’ll be staying at Red Deer Village Holiday Park during this time, have a visit!
