Red Deer Village Holiday Park in Stepps, Glasgow, have partnered with Respitality. This Scottish government supported project allows the hospitality and tourism industries in Scotland to give back to our communities. Respitality allows unpaid carers to take a break from their routine and get away so that they can recharge, which is vital to their wellbeing.

An unpaid carer is classed as anyone who cares for a friend or family member who cannot cope without their support, whether this be through illness, disability or other. These carers are the real heroes!

So, Red Deer Village Holiday Park are offering a couple of free stays for carers. This is a great initiative to help those in such a demanding role. Carers who have taken a short break through Respitality have appreciated the change to routine and the freedom of no financial pressure, as would be the case with a regular holiday. And, after feeling refreshed and renewed, carers feel positive about returning back to their role. So we’re happy to be involved!

Other Charity Stays

Red Deer Village Holiday Park recently welcomed another free stay on behalf of charity. Michael Ford stayed with us in a tent recently on his journey from John O’Groates to Land’s End via the Three Peaks. When he stayed with us, he had already climbed Ben Nevis, and was running around 50 miles per day!  His run was to show support for mental health charity The Hike with Mike Foundation, and Lymphoma Action.
