LEARN ABOUT LICHEN

Thursday 7th September 2017 at Frankfield Loch

Join Amanda Malcolm from TCV Scotland to discover how clean our air is by looking at the lichens growing on trees and rocks around the Loch. Learn what different lichens indicate and where to look for them. Contact a.malcolm@tcv.org.uk or 07917 460488 to express interest or find out more.

11am to 2pm. Meet at Loch Road, off Cumbernauld Road, Stepps.

GIVE IT A GO – GEOCACHING

Saturday 9th September 2017 at Bishop Loch Local Nature Reserve

Geocaching is a worldwide treasure hunting game where you use your smartphone to follow a trail to find hidden containers. This event will use the “Finding Nemo” trail at Bishop Loch local nature reserve (LNR) to give people new to geocaching a chance to try this fun, global activity.

1pm to 3pm. Meet at the entrance on Baldragon Road, G34 0JY.

SEVEN LOCHS TRAIL WALK

Sunday 10th September 2017 at Hogganfield Local Nature Reserve

Scott Ferguson from the Seven Lochs Project and Stephen Inglis from RSPB will lead a guided walk along the Seven Lochs Trail through Hogganfield Park and Cardowan Moss woodland. The walk will look at the wildlife along the way, and what is being done to protect it.

1pm to 3pm. Meet at the car park on Cumbernauld Road, G33 1AH.

Provan Hall, Auchinlea Park, Glasgow
Saturday 16th September 2017 at Proven Hall, Auchinlea Park

Discover what Proven Hall was like as a working farm in the time of the Victorians. Meet Reston mother’s world famous Clydesdale Horses or try your hand at some Victorian street games. Take a guided tour of the Old Hall, or find out about the Industrial history of the Seven Lochs. Get creative with some arts and crafts or set of on an adventure with our garden fairy trail.

11am to 4pm at Provan Hall House, Auchinlea Road, G34 9NJ.

No bookings needed. Guided tours will run every hour, but places may be limited.

DOORS OPEN AT PROVEN HALL – MEDIEVAL MAGIC

Sunday 17th September 2017 at Proven Hall, Auchinlea Park 

Learn about the Kings, Queens, Bishops and Nobility that shaped the early history of Proven hall. Take a tour of the medieval Hall of Provan, or find out about the Bishop’s Estate on a guided walk through Todd’s Well Woodland. Try you hand at our medieval crafts and sample some cooking from the Middle Ages.

1am to 4pm at Provan Hall House, Auchinlea Road, G34 9NJ.

No bookings needed. Guided tours will run every hour, but places may be limited.

CRANNOG CRAFTS

Saturday 30th September 2017 at Drumpellier Country Park 

Iron Age people of Britain celebrated the start of the harvest season around the 1st of August with the Lughnasa festival feast. In our harvest season workshop you can learn all about what food and drink would have been on Iron Age people’s plates.

1pm to 3pm. Meet at the visitor centre, ML5 1RX.
