Did you know the Scottish ski resorts are among the best in the UK for outdoor skiing and snowboarding? The country’s ski centres are accessible from all of Scotland’s major cities and offer great sliding opportunities for beginner and seasoned skiers and boarders alike.

Why is it a good idea to have a ski vacation in Scotland? It is good value for money, and you don’t need a passport, costly travel insurance or foreign currency (unless you’re visiting Scotland from overseas).

Ski Near Red Deer Village

There are plenty of beautiful places to see nearby Red Deer Village Holiday Park for our guests. You can have a winter day of adventure in Lowther Hills Ski Club, located just under an hour away.

It’s a friendly, community-owned club located near two of Scotland’s highest villages – Leadhills and Wanlockhead – in southwest Scotland and is managed by volunteers. You have to be a member to use the club’s tows and changing facilities, but the membership fee is modest. It’s worth mentioning that the site does not provide rental equipment, so skiers and boarders should bring their own.

When is the best time to do a snowcation? The season usually runs from December through to early April, but this varies depending on snowfall. Snow conditions are very changeable but are generally best from January to April, so make sure that you are ready to visit at short notice.
